Sarah Michelle Gellar Is “Grateful” NBC Didnt Pick Up Cruel Intentions Series

Sarah Michelle Gellar discussed the Cruel Intentions revival that NBC rejected and explained why she is grateful that the pilot was not picked up for a full season.
It received a trial order from Peacock in February 2016, but the network declared in October of that same year that it would not be continuing forward with the project.
Although Gellar agreed to reprise the part of Kathryn Merteuil, she eventually thought the new version fell short of the 1999 movie.
Gellar told the New York Times “That was a whole crazy time,”
Adding that “Nothing against NBC, but Cruel Intentions is straight streaming. On the first day, I was like, This isnt working.
Its just not a network show. And if it is a network show, its not my Cruel Intentions. So, I was actually grateful.”
